The Kinky Apothecary blog is baaaaack!!! (Plus photos and details from The Secret Natural Hair Brunch )

Helloooooooo long lost (well, hopefully not) blog readers!!!

Yes yes, it's been a while - a year and 2 days, to be precise - since my last blog post. Some of you might have wondered what happened to me. I'm still with you. But if you've been following us on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter, you'd know that!

As you may have noticed, we've been working on a LOT behind the scenes, and things are quite different round here. All good changes, if I may say so myself. In addition to this new look blog, you might have noticed a new website with new brands and products, new concessions (and we've got 3 more opening this year), pop ups, events ... you name it. We've been busy busy busy, and I can't wait to show you what we've been up to.

Over the next few weeks, both I and the new Kinky Apothecary team will be filling you in on what you've missed since my last post.

Of course you can always still go back and read over the helpful tips in our archives, and going forward, you can look forward to regular posts with tips, articles, news and reports.

To kick you off, scroll down for photos from our second Secret Natural Hair Brunch, which we hosted last Saturday May 7th in collaboration with The Heat Free Hair Movement.

An exclusive group of ladies gathered at the Social Place, 33 Sinari Daranijo St, Victoria Island for mimosas and a 3-course meal catered by Ozoz Sokoh - aka Kitchen Butterfly - and hair talk led by both myself and Ngozi Opara, founder of The Heat Free Hair Movement.

To break the ice, Ngozi got the ladies, including presenter and actress Oreka Godis, to take turns describing why they went natural, their natural hair journeys and any problems encountered along the way, and I have to say there were some very interesting stories. We followed with an informal question & answer session with Ngozi and I fielding questions ranging from general hair health and building a healthy hair regimen to the pros and cons of dyeing hair, and even veering off topic to talk about the life of a female entrepreneur.

After dessert, we mingled, made new friends and shopped (there was clothing from Grey, make up and beauty products from Sacred Beauty, natural textured hair pieces from Heat Free Hair and of course a wide selection of natural hair products at special prices discounted for the day from The Kinky Apothecary Shop

All in all it was lovely to see old faces and meet some new ones, and I think I can speak for everyone when I say we all had a blast. I hope everyone enjoyed their goody bags when they got home. Can't wait for the next event ... which may or may not be #NNHB2016 *winks* ... watch this space!
