I'm so grateful for how our first Nigerian Natural Hair & Beauty Show (NNHB2015, for those in the know) went off without a hitch last Saturday!
Held at Federal Palace Hotel, VI, Lagos, the event went better than I could have imagine, and I am so proud of and thankful to my team for an awesome day!
We kicked off with a panel discussion, consisting of Hollywood celebrity stylist Felicia Leatherwood, Ngozi Opara, founder of The Heat Free Hair Movement natural hair weaves, Obia Ewah, Founder and Formulating Chemist of Obia Natural Haircare, Wunmi Akinlagun of Woman In The Jungle, Ijeoma Eboh of Klassy Kinks and Cassidy Blackwell of naturalselectionblog.com. After the panel each speaker headed a workshop giving in depth information and advice on their individual speciality.
But particularly popular on the day was an exhibition space featuring The Kinky Apothecary Pop-Up Shop where guests were able to go nuts over a wide array of hair products and accessories, and stalls from a variety of other brands ranging from body products such as R and R Luxury and Ajali, to florists Prime Flowers & Horticulture, who keyed in to the healthy lifestyle aspect of the event by providing fresh vegetables in addition to flowers, candles and homewares. Some new Nigerian brands such as Uwa Earth Foods and Bubble Tii Nigeria chose the event as an opportunity to launch.
I think I can speak for everyone when I say we all had a blast as we spent the day relaxing, mingling, shopping, but most importantly, learning, and I'm hoping you all enjoyed your goodie bags!
We're already planning something even bigger for next year so make sure you don't miss out! Until then, you can check out all the pictures from the day below.
Enjoy!
